From 10 – 14 March 2026 Intertraffic 2026 took place at the RAI Amsterdam. The Smart Mobility Embassy and Connekt once again joined the Metropolregio Amsterdam in a pavilion designed for netwroking, visits from abroad, collaboration and conversations.

Over the course of the event, the Connekt pavilion was a meeting point for delegations, conversations and connections that stretched well beyond the Netherlands — from Korea, Malaysia, Norway, Finland, Georgia, Spain, Canada and beyond. What made those exchanges possible was the presence of Connekt members on the pavilion floor: practitioners and organisations who showed up, shared their knowledge and engaged with international counterparts’ day after day. Days that would not have been possible without them.
These were valuable days. Not because of the programme alone, but because of what happens when the right people are in the same room — and because many of those people have been in that room before. Some of these connections go back 25 years. Intertraffic is, in part, where we continue those relationships and where new ones begin.
What took place:
The Smart Moves session brought together Connekt members to demonstrate how the Netherlands approaches integrated, scalable and future-proof mobility — from data infrastructure to multimodal coordination. The session made clear that Dutch solutions carry relevance beyond Dutch borders.
The ITS VIP Dinner at Het Scheepvaartmuseum brought together ITS nationals, embassies, Connekt members and international peers for conversations that do not fit on a conference floor.
The Technical Tour through Amsterdam gave international visitors a working view of how data, technology and operational coordination come together — from Amsterdam Centraal to the Traffic Control Centre and walking in historical Amsterdam.
Incoming delegations included ITS Korea and the Korean Ministry, Nordic organisations and diplomatic missions from Finland and Norway, the Malaysian Ministry of Works, and representatives from Georgia, Spain, Canada, Bavaria and Poland. Many of these conversations were not new. They are part of something built over decades.
Why it matters:
Mobility does not stop at borders. Neither does the knowledge, the expertise or the responsibility to keep improving how people and goods move. International collaboration is not a side activity — it is how standards develop, how solutions scale and how the sector moves forward together.
The Netherlands has a track record in smart mobility worth sharing. And just as much to learn from those working on the same challenges elsewhere.
Thank you to all Connekt members who were present at the pavilion and contributed to making these exchanges possible. Without your presence, none of this would have been what it was. And equally, thank you to all international partners, delegations and peers who travelled to Amsterdam, engaged openly and reminded us why these connections matter.
We also confirmed our participation in Intertraffic Amsterdam 2028. The next chapter is already scheduled.
