During this trip we will visit the fair and conference, make fascinating excursions, visit companies and explore interesting practical examples. Not only do we learn from experts on the ground, but this trip also offers a great opportunity to connect with peers in an informal way.
In June 2024, “Imagine the metaverse ” (formerly: Smart City Expo & Conference) will take place in Tampere, Finland. The Smart Mobility Embassy is organizing a members trip especially for members of Connekt from 10 to 12 June 2024. The members of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of Connekt will also participate in this study trip. During this trip we meet various stakeholders and explore the exhibition floor.
Why Tampere?
The“Imagine the metaverse ” brings together people-oriented urban development and innovative ICT technologies for practical urban applications. This event provides an opportunity to turn ideas into action-oriented strategies for urban development and digital innovation. Moreover, a visit to Tampere itself is very worthwhile. In 2021, Tampere received the Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning award for their approach to connecting health, equality, environment and poverty reduction through mobility, with a focus on safety and accessibility. Let’s discover together what the latest developments are!
Program
“Imagine the metaverse ” in Tampere is a three-day journey with the following central themes: data and digitalization, autonomy and connectivity and space and behavior. Although not yet finalized, the program includes a meeting with the City of Tampere’s Smart Mobility Team, a visit to Tampere Autonomous Driving Testbed Hervanta and ITS Factory.

- Members (regular): €1600 per participant
- Members (premium): €900 for the first participant, €1600 for each subsequent participant
- Strategic partners: Free for the first participant, €1600 for each subsequent participant
