Connekt (ITS Netherlands) members will be travelling to the Lille-Kortrijk region, spanning northern France and western Belgium, from 14–16 September 2026, to explore current developments in smart mobility, sustainable logistics, and cross-border cooperation. The visit will focus on urban accessibility, digitalisation, and innovative mobility services. Members will engage with organisations and innovation environments active in these fields, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
Why Lille-Kortrijk?
The Lille–Kortrijk–Tournai Eurometropolis is one of Europe’s most active cross-border regions, where sustainable mobility, smart logistics, and international cooperation come together. The region’s strategic position as a multimodal hub, combined with its focus on urban renewal and digital transformation, offers relevant examples of how cities and regions approach mobility in an integrated way. Lille is investing in sustainable accessibility and behavioural change in transport, while Kortrijk functions as a testbed for digital logistics and new mobility solutions. The Eurometropolis also provides a practical example of how cross-border alignment between governments and organisations can work. Together, these characteristics make the region a relevant destination for professionals working on the future of mobility and logistics.
