Four Motors for Europe delegation visit

On Wednesday 20 February a delegation of 35 experts in mobility from five European countries visited Connekt and the Smart Mobility Embassy in Delft (NL) to get informed about the networking organizations and Dutch smart mobility solutions.

The delegation was led by Mr. Loek Becker Hoff, Senior Account Manager at Innovation Quarter. Innovation Quarter supports organizations in establishing new business in West Holland. The visit to the Smart Mobility Embassy was part of a two day program to the Rotterdam/Delft region and the Province of North Brabant.

Tom van Dam, working at Connekt -the independent network for smart, sustainable and social mobility- and José Oudijk, Head of Community at the Smart Mobility Embassy, shared information on Dutch smart mobility solutions and the ambition of both networking organizations. Supported by a trusted network of Dutch expert organizations, the goal is to create a better environment through safe, efficient mobility, worldwide. Collaboration is key to achieve this goal, so sharing knowledge with Four Motors for Europe is a great opportunity to establish a relationship with European mobility experts.

The delegates were invited to visit the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) European Congress 2019 that will take place in June in Eindhoven Brainport. ITS European Congress is the largest event entirely dedicated to smart mobility and digitalisation of transport. The Smart Mobility Embassy welcomes international delegations visiting the congress and host custom built site visits to several Dutch cities that will include networking opportunities with Dutch smart mobility experts.

About Four Motors for Europe
The Four Motors for Europe is a transnational, interregional network of four highly industrialized and research-oriented regions in Europe. Rhône-Alpes of France, Baden-Württemberg of Germany, Catalonia of Spain and Lombardy of Italy signed an agreement of cooperation on September 9, 1988, in Stuttgart, Germany. The so-called Memorandum sets out to increase economic and social cooperation between the regions that do not possess a common border. The agreement was to have the four regions cooperate in a long term relationship in the fields of science, research, education, environment, culture, and other sectors. The purpose of this relationship was to foster the regional dimension within the European Union as well as increasing the potential for economic growth within the four regions. These regions focus on the exchange of information with each other to expand their technology and R&D. The group works selectively with associated partners. (Source: Wikipedia)
